Web site Beginning's - the Story
We're often asked where the idea came from for this site.
It began several years ago. My father was having a bad time in and out of hospital. On one occasion, I had to take him into hospital where he was to undergo a very serious operation.
As we were leaving for the hospital, he confided in me that if he didn’t wake from the operation that he had wrote some letters. He then showed me a set of letters, all neatly set out on the kitchen table with names on for each of his dependents. He made me promise not to open mine while he was away in hospital, and that they were only to be opened in the event that he did not survive.
Well, the operation was a success and my father recovered.
But sadly two years later he passed away due to cancer. Myself along with other Family members had to clear his house of all possessions. I hoped that I would find those Letters again, that were shown to me a few years previous, alas they were never found.
I often wonder what was contained in the letter for me.
By creating this web site, we believe this service will help others. We always wanted to do something to help charities. Which is why one pound from every letter purchased is given to charitable causes.
Why do we charge?
We have to pay for storage space and make sure this storage is longevity to keep the letters safe over many years. Also there are manual admin tasks that are required to be performed, which are all costs.
Web Site future development
We want to develop the site further to interact with government record sites and improve at the next version. We will be promoting this service via well known media formats. Radio advertising is planed for the UK at the later part of the year.
Outage times
It is our intension that any maintenance tasks or website improvement will always be delivered on the first Tuesday of the month if required.
